We have bought a place with a creek on it....... Yes, for the most part, you have constant water for your horses if it is a wet weather creek. On the other hand, expect to be repairing fences every time that it rains because whatever you block the creek crossing with will be washed out. I have found that electric fencing is the cheapest way to do this, all you do is stretch the wire back out or buy new. Hopefully you have high banks that you can utilize and you don't have to go across the creek because the horses don't wish to travel up or down the creek bed. Don't get arrogant and rely on this point because they will eventually do it.
